How do you turn policy ambition into business strategy?
India's first green hydrogen publication
The problem
India had announced ambitious green hydrogen targets but there was a fundamental gap: policy ambition without business strategy. Industry players wanted to invest but lacked frameworks. Policymakers needed private sector roadmaps. Existing publications explained why green hydrogen mattered but nobody had written the playbook for how Indian industry could actually adopt it.
What I did
Co-authored KPMG India's first publication on green hydrogen strategy. Developed a 5 focus area framework covering centre-state alignment, indigenous supply chain development, demand-side impetus, procurement policy, and access to finance. Coordinated with KPMG's UK climate team to synthesise international learnings with India-specific realities.
Outcomes
What I learned
Global frameworks that claim to work everywhere usually don't. The best work combines global learning with local reality.
Writing for influence requires different skills than writing for analysis.
Thought leadership is about helping others decide what to do.
